Bar bending schedule is also called BBS. purpose  of BBS is that the explain about the steel which is using the any reinforcement concrete foundation or column in this method all the detail mention for steel means the diameter of steel length of steel and the weight of steel.

What is the Column?

Width of Column=450mm

Height of Column=1500mm

Number of vertical bar=8Nos

Diameter of vertical bar=16mm

Diameter of stirrups(Rectangle)=10mm

Diameter of Stirrups (diamond)=10mm

Concrete Cover of Column=50mm

Spacing of stirrups =150mm

Now we calculate the bar bending schedule for column

Vertical Bar

Cutting length of  vertical bar =total height of column+2bends

Cutting length of  vertical bar =1500+2(16d)

Cutting length of  vertical bar =1500+2(16×16)

Cutting length of  vertical bar =1500+2(256)

Cutting length of  vertical bar =1500+512=2012mm=2.012m

Number of vertical bar =8Nos

Total length of vertical bar =No’s of bar ×length of one bar

Total length of vertical bar =8×2.012=16.096m

Weight of vertical bar=d²/162.26×total length of vertical bar

Weight of vertical bar=16²/162.26×16.096

Weight of vertical bar=256/162.26×16.096=25.39kg=26kg

Rectangle Stirrups

Cutting length of Stirrups = 2 sides of column length +2 sides of column width+2bends(9d)

Cutting length of Stirrups =2 (500)+2(450)+2(9d)

Cutting length of Stirrups =2 (500)+2(450)+2(9×10)

Cutting length of Stirrups =1000+900+180=2080mm=2.080m

Number of stirrups(Rectangle)=total height of column/spacing+1

Number of stirrups(Rectangle)=1500/150+1=11Nos

Total length of stirrups=No’s of stirrups × length of one stirrups

Total length of stirrups=11 × 2.080=22.88m

Weight of stirrups= d²/162.26×total length of stirrups

Weight of stirrups=10²/162.26×22.88

Weight of stirrups=100/162.26×22.88=14.100kg=15kg

Diamond stirrups

cutting length of Diamond stirrups=4sides of  diagonal+2bends

diagonal side =250 for find the right triangle

cutting length of Diamond stirrups=4(250)+2(9d)

cutting length of Diamond stirrups=1000+2(9×10)=1180mm=1.180m

Number of Diamond stirrups=total height of column/spacing+1

Number of Diamond stirrups=1500/150+1=11nos

Total length of Diamond stirrups=number of stirrups × length of one stirrups

Bar Bending Schedule For Footing

Total length of Diamond stirrups=11 × 1.180=12.98m

Weight of Diamond stirrups=d²/162.26×total length

Weight of Diamond stirrups=10²/162.26×12.98

Weight of Diamond stirrups=100/162.26×12.98=7.99kg=8kg

Total weight of 16mm bar=26kg

Total weight of 10mm bar =15+8=23kg
